On Monday said it is expanding its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to scale up its adoption of Google Cloud AI. In the expanded collaboration, Wipro will use Vertex AI and Gemini models to help developer productivity and better cloud migration. The company will train its workforce with the generative AI-powered tools.
According to a company statement issued to the press, “Equipping the workforce with generative AI-powered tools, Wipro uses Vertex AI and Gemini models in its project execution for clients to improve developer productivity, fast-track cloud migrations, and deliver ground-breaking GenAI solutions.”
This will encompass the development of new industry solutions using Gemini models, co-creating joint go-to-market programs, integration of Gemini Code Assist into its internal tooling to accelerate applications developed for customers, and the application of Gemini for rapid prototyping of internal apps.
In addition, Wipro is skilling up its associates on Google Cloud’s AI technologies, which include Gemini, as this will enable it to bring business solutions with artificial intelligence technology to clients.
This will translate to GenAI-enabled productivity gains of as much as 30 per cent, estimated by Wipro.
The firm further revealed “The abilities of Gemini for Google Cloud are being combined into the Wipro FullStride Cloud Studio platforms and are being used within the physical Wipro FullStride Cloud Studios in Bangalore, London, New Jersey, Dallas and Mountain View.”
Wipro had advanced the partnership in May 2023 by incorporating artificial intelligence technology into its operations. In 2012, Wipro signed an agreement with Google Cloud and announced that every product or IT service will be either cloud resident or cloud attached.
With this strengthened relationship with Google Cloud, we shall indeed expedite the digital transformation journey significantly for our clients and empower them to optimize their businesses running on the cloud. Together with Gemini, a part of our Wipro FullStride Cloud Studio platform, we will enable our clients even further to realize the power of cloud, adapt to the future in an AI-driven environment, and transform their businesses,” said Jo Debecker, managing partner and global head, Wipro FullStride Cloud.
Kevin Ichhpurani, corporate vice president, global ecosystem and channels at Google Cloud stated: “With this partnership, Google’s Gemini models and AI services are an enabler of digital transformation at Wipro and with its vast set of enterprise clients.” He further added, “Wipro’s growing expertise with Google Cloud AI is prepared to help its enterprise clients on most of their most meaningful projects – cloud migrations, data analytics, application modernization, and more.”
