Union Minister Piyush Goyal Confirms Support to Regional Entrepreneurs

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal attended Samvad, the Northeast region’s first outreach programme for investors and industry, in Itanagar, and guaranteed local entrepreneurs of government support.

Goyal had a series of high-level talks with state authorities, business leaders, and local entrepreneurs to discuss new trade, investment, and sustainable development options, with the goal of better integrating Arunachal Pradesh into national and global economic frameworks.

A special summit, Samvad-2024, was organized to bring together investors, industry experts, and local businesses. It intended to highlight Arunachal’s unique prospects and encourage both domestic and global investment to the province.

Goyal assured local businesspeople of the central government’s commitment to addressing their problems and boosting entrepreneurship. Recognizing Arunachal Pradesh’s abundant natural resources and biodiversity, the minister emphasized the importance of sustainable development. Initiatives to encourage eco-friendly industries and practices were discussed, which are consistent with the national agenda for sustainable growth.

Goyal voiced hope about Arunachal’s growth prospects, saying, “Arunachal Pradesh is a land of great opportunities. The government is focused on fostering a business-friendly environment, improving connectivity, and assuring long-term development.

“We are committed to transforming this region into a significant hub of economic activity,” he stated. He went on to remark that “if India is to be developed, the northeastern states will have to be developed rapidly.”

The minister spoke with representatives from a variety of industries, including agriculture, handicrafts, tourism, and technology. He pushed them to use the benefits of Unnati-2024 to grow their operations and enter new markets. The focus was on promoting local products and services, increasing exports, and encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed hope that Unnati-2024 will help Arunachal Pradesh and other Northeastern states reach new heights. He added that the state has been successfully executing the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Yojana to assist startups.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted actions targeted at the development and prosperity of Arunachal Pradesh and the northeastern area, emphasizing his commitment to making Arunachal a destination for investors. (DIPR)
