Gaming Startup LightFury Secures $8.5M Investment

In order to produce well-known games, Tina Balachandran, Anurag Banerjee, and Karan Shroff formed LightFury Games in 2024.
In a seed fundraising round, the gaming business LightFury Games raised $8.5 million from Brighte Ventures, Mixi Inc., and Gemba Capital. In the investment round, angel investors Gaurav Munjal and Kunal Shah took part as well.

The business intends to utilize the money to hire people in India and the UK to build AAA games, which are usually high-profile, high-budget productions.
“Creating successful AAA titles in the Indian market and establishing a Tencent-like presence originating from India, is what we are excited to bring to the fore,” said Karan Shroff, Co-founder of LightFury Games.

“It would necessitate building the finest expertise and leveraging state-of-the-art technological innovations to ensure top-tier gameplay quality,” Shroff, who was earlier the Chief Marketing Officer and Partner at Unacademy.

Anurag Banerjee, a seasoned veteran of the game industry with experience working with firms like GAME7, Ubisoft, WB Games Montreal Inc., etc., is one of Shroff’s co-founders. In addition, Banerjee contributed to the development of a number of well-known AAA titles, including as Suicide Squad, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Assasin’s Creed.

Former executive at Tencent Games and Unacademy, Tina Balachandran, is a co-founder of LightFury Games.
“The ability to piece together the talent and bring in believers from the gaming and consumer universe make it one of our most exciting investments we’ve made in this space,” said Karthik Reddy, Co-founder and Managing Director at Blume Ventures.
